NestED: Tiny Homes Education for a Sustainable Future
NestED is a European cooperation project that connects vocational education and training with sustainable housing, community building, and social inclusion. The project helps educators, learners, and communities explore flexible learning pathways that respond to today’s housing, environmental, and workforce challenges.
Empowering communities through education and sustainable housing
NestED is designed to support vocational education and training providers, learners, social organisations, and community stakeholders in developing new knowledge and practical skills around tiny homes, sustainable housing, and community-led solutions. Through research, case studies, curricula, workshops, training activities, and digital learning tools, the project promotes more flexible, inclusive, and future-oriented approaches to VET.
Sustainable Housing
NestED explores tiny homes and other community-based housing approaches as practical, low-impact, and future-focused solutions. The project promotes sustainability, green skills, and climate-conscious thinking in both education and housing development.
VET Learning
The project strengthens vocational education through flexible, modular, and hybrid learning approaches. It supports educators and learners with case studies, open educational resources, and training materials that connect learning with real community needs.
Community Building
NestED encourages collaboration between educators, learners, NGOs, policymakers, and housing stakeholders. By linking learning with community action, the project helps build stronger, more inclusive, and more resilient local networks.
Practical outputs for long-term impact
NestED will deliver a range of practical and accessible outputs to support learning, cooperation, and long-term impact. These include interactive case studies, open educational resources, sustainable housing curricula, technical training materials, local workshops, international trainings, a webinar, and a digital community platform.
